"The Boy from New York City" was written and first performed by The Ad Libs in 1964 and also by Darts in 1978 before becoming a hit for the Manhattan Transfer in 1981. This cover has the foot-tapping beat and fun doo-wop sound of the classic versions, in a fresh new arrangement by multi-instrumentalist Andrew Stein that features Grammy-nominated, Juno Award-winning pianist Michael Creber (Michelle's dad)...and, of course, 12-year-old Michelle herself on lead vocals.
