Ivory Past is the solo project of one Hitoshi Oka, a driving force behind the 2000s guitar pop bands Sloppy Joe and My Coffee Moment, and the few limited edition singles he's released under the name carry on under that sound. "Searching for Your Love" in particular is a sweet acoustic number backed by a driving shuffle rhythm, and its b-side "Don't Let You Down" features stellar lead guitar that's light and jangly. In 2018, Ivory Past would release a split cassette with Snowflakes, another artist with roots in the 2000s guitar pop scene.
