A quick little R&B tune. As with a lot of my songs, it started with me just stumbling on to a cool little chord progression on the piano. It's very simple, so while I like the sparse, isolated sound of the instrumental, I riffed lyrics on top of it all and added some harmonic vocalizations just to tie everything together. Ultimately it's a pretty smooth piece.

One of the production notes I was playing around with was vocal processing. I wanted to maintain a fairly intimate sound with the vocals during the "verse", but I wanted to bump up the intensity through the warmth and perceived width of the different parts. So I played around with EQ, compressors, and multitrack doubling to achieve a pretty nice balance between a close, one-source sound and a very spacious, airy wave of sound once the harmonies come in.
