After months of planning, designing, constructing and testing, the Rainboom Mk 2 is at long last ready to take flight. Carrying with it my lovely Rainbow Dash co-piolet, and sporting the artwork of my good friend Amiki, the Rainboom Mk 2 finally did what it was born to do, perform the world's first ever Sonic Rainboom. Flying on an L 935 Imax CTI rocket motor, the Rainboom Mk 2 flew to an altitude of 10,160 feet, and reaching a top speed of over 730 MPH, exceeding the speed of sound! The rocket flew perfectly and was recovered after drifting on its parachute for over 2 miles, recording video footage all the way. I'll be uploading the raw footage from inside the rocket, both from its test flight to 1000 feet, and it's full supersonic launch to 10,000 feet in another video.
